Jane Philips was born and raised on the gulf coast of Alabama, surrounded by woodlands, beaches, and swamps. Her mother passed on a wonder and curiosity for the natural world which Jane continues to express through her paintings. Much of her work is a reflection of her struggle with anxiety and her exploration of humanity and nature.

She holds a BFA from the Maryland Institute College of Art and is currently an MFA candidate at the New York Academy of Art. She lives in Brooklyn with her dog Kaylee. It's Jane's mission to visit every dog friendly cafe in New York.
